OSAAT DT - CHALLENGE NO 242 - ANYTHING GOES FOR CHILDREN

Good afternoon friends and blogsters - first of all I would like to welcome my new follower Anet - I hope you enjoy checking out my blog, I do tend to waffle so be warned!   Today I have a card for the OSAAT DT and our theme this fortnight is Children.

I apologise for the colour of the apple, it's quite a luscious red on the card but it turned out this colour when the pic was taken.  Not sure whether it was the new glaze I used on it or just the light of the day.  I made the pencils from a piece of card, I rolled it into a tube and made a paper 'bead' and pushed it into the end then I coloured the pointy bit with Flexmarkers.

Ingredients

7" x 7" White card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi - 'Bak 2 Skool' by IkeSart at Stitchy Bears Digi Outlet
Papers - DCWV Stack No 6 (12" x 12" pad)
Black card from stash
'Stitched Squares' dies - Lil'inkers Dies
'Scalloped Buttons' die - Memory Box Dies
'Fishtail Flags Stax' die - Die-namics Dies
Flexmarkers
Star Paperclip - present from my blog pal Jenny Lawrence (Cardsarus)

I do hope you can enter our challenge, I know the children are on holiday now and that you will be busier than ever, but it would be nice to see your creations!!!  We have a great prize this month of digis and papers and it's well worth trying for.

That's it for now, a little short I know but I am so busy at the moment I just don't know where the time goes - even the maestro is having a mumble that I'm stuck in my craft room.  He's got sooo bored that apart from watching his F1 and MotoGP (yawwwwwwn) - I know someone out there who is now spitting at me 'cos they love MotoGP!! - he's ordered bricks and stuff and is building a new wall, I'm trying to work out whether he's keeping me in or out ...mmmmm!  I guess I'll find out when he starts bricking up the door to my craft room with me on the outside!!!

Lots of big hugs to you all and I hope you are keeping well.  Please take care.

CRAFTY TIME CHALLENGE - JULY - PUNCHES/DIES - MID-MONTH REMINDER

Hello out there - sorry no pic of my pressy from my blog friend but the maestro is still on holiday ooops at work and I'd forgotten I'd made a card for the mid month reminder on our Crafty Time Challenge.  Just to remind you, the theme is to use Punches and/or dies.   Such a difficult task for me I must say!  When you see the pic of my pressy and what has been said about it, you will know that I am talking warbles......again!

I love this little girl on the stool with her odd socks - bet she's got another pair like that in the drawer!  Soooooorrry!  Our theme is open for another two weeks, so why not have a go.  I'm sure you have one or three dies up your sleeves which you are longing to use again!!

Ingredients
7" x 7" White card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi from Sherri Baldy (sorry don't know the title, it wasn't with the digi)
Paper - 'Hugs with Henry' - free with a magazine
Elegant Oval Layering Die Set - Tonic Dies
French Collection Border and Tag dies - Creative Expressions by Sue Wilson
Graph'it Markers
Cream card from stash
Flowers, buttons from stash
Leaves - WOC
Stamens - Brenda's Lace and Ribbons

In case you are wondering where the tag is - I cut it in half and used it at the top and bottom of the oval die cut!  I've made this as a birthday card for a little friend so will pop a sentiment on it very very soon!

I do hope you like my card and have the time to leave a word or two!  I'd also lurve to see your cards on our challenge blog, there's three chances of winning a prize from our sponsor!

Lots of big hugs to you all and please take care of yourselves.

THROUGH THE PURPLE HAZE - JULY - SOMETHING FUNNY!!

Good afternoon friendly bloggers out there!  Here I am posting my card for the TTPH Challenge as a mid-month reminder!!  I think it's a very good idea for us to post a 'little nudge' like this half way through, don't you??

Our theme is make 'Something Funny', now this little lady did make me think of someone but the person (in real life) is soooo nice that I could be seen to be a tad naughty!!  I wasn't sure what sort of design to make but I'd got this paper in my cupboard (the large one that the maestro - bless him - suggested he alter for me some while ago - ooops did I really say that?) and I thought it looked quite retro, just like those pink rollers in her hair!

I'm sure that if you did touch her coffee you'd certainly see stars, so I felt that the stitched star die cuts would be a perfect embellishment!
We'd love to see your funny creations on our Challenge - you might want to check some of the cards that my teamies have made and also some of the other entries - but be careful if you are offended by certain language!

Ingredients
7" x 7" White card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi - 'Grumpy Gertie' by Bugaboo Stamps
Papers - 'Play' pad from American Crafts
Lil'Inkers Stitched Rectangles Dies

They have some absolutely corking images!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and I do hope you've left a comment 'cos you know I love reading them.

Take care of yourselves, the sun is shining at the moment but it's not too hot so I am blissful!  Oh and by the way, a very good friend of mine sent me a birthday pressy which she had made herself,  it's absolutely gorgeous so look out for a piccy next time I blog.   The maestro is working this week and even though he has today off, he's busy in the garden so I've not interrupted him!

Big hugs to you

OSAAT DT - CHALLENGE NO 241 - ANYTHING GOES WITH CHILLAXING!

Afternoon fellow blogsters out there - I do hope you are all well but, for those who aren't, I'm sending loads of wishes to get well soon, or at least feel better.  Thanks to those of you who have been over to my blog and have left a comment or two recently, I want you to know that I always read them and am so chuffed that you have popped by!

It's my birthday today so I've scheduled this post 'cos I might be out stuffing my face and forgetting the diet for one day ....... as if!!!  (edit)  Thank you so much for the birthday cards I have received, they are lovely and I am so touched that you remembered.  I have finally reached middle-age!!!  No laughing out there please!

Anyway I'm posting my latest card for the OSAAT challenge.  This fortnight we are looking for cards with a theme of 'Chillaxing'.   The maestro is often found pottering in the garden or relaxing as I call it (although he says it's hard work)!

I wasn't making this card for an adult as such so I thought I would use a little bit of the 'chicken' paper from an LOTV pad that I've just bought.  You'll also see that the top diamond is a little bit larger than the others but I didn't want to decrease the size of the image and when I pieced everything together I quite liked the shape that had formed!  I've taken quite a fancy to those paper-pieced green spotty wellies as well.

Ingredients

7" x 7" White Card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi - 'In the Garden' by Kaz Krafts at Stitchy Bears Digi Outlet
Paper Pad - 'Sunny Side Up' from LOTV
Dies - 'Pierced Square Stax' from Die-Namics Dies
Satin Mirri Card - stash
Wellies were paper-pieced with paper from the Tattered Lace Magazine
Rainbow Drops - Crafty Notions
Flexmarkers

I hope you like my version of chillaxing, we'd love to see your creations on our challenge blog - you can win the following prize ....

A paper pack and 6 images, definitely not to be sneezed at!

If you have time to leave a comment when you are on my blog, I'd love to hear from you.  Please take care of yourselves and enjoy this weather while we have it,  I'm also thinking about anyone out there looking after poorly other halves, hope they feel better soon.

Big hugs to you.

CRAFTY CALENDAR CHALLENGE - JULY - 'CHRISTMAS IN JULY'

Hi everyone - yes it's me again with another Christmas card - this one is for the Crafty Calendar DT and, as you may have guessed, our theme this month is 'Christmas in July'.   Absolutely no problem for moi 'cos they are my favourite cards to make!!

I used an image from Mo Manning which I bought some time ago but have never used.  She is such a cutie trying to catch the snowflakes on her tongue.  Of course I had to use a few die cuts on here as well - it would have been rude not to - ;o)

Our prize this time is a Christmas Goody Bag

Let's see your creations over on the Challenge blog - we'd love you to become a follower as well but it's not an obligation - just join in and post your cards for us to see.

We are also looking for a couple more DT members - all you have to do is put the initials DT after your name when you enter your card onto our blog.   We don't have many rules as a DT member, the main important ones are that you need to make one card per month and also comment on the number/s you are given.  Simples!

Ingredients

7" x 7" white card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi - 'Taste of Winter' by Mo Manning
Embossing Folder - Winter Wishes by Creative Expressions (I think)
Spellbinders Dies - Labels 35
Creative Expressions Dies - Finishing Touches - Trailing Ivy die
Creative Expressions Dies - Festive Collection - Classic Poinsettia die
Creative Expressions Dies - Festive Collection - Filigree Poinsettia die
Lea'bilities Dies - Holly Leaves and Pine Branches dies
'Merry Christmas' sentiment die - Cheery Lynn Designs
Red Glitter (On the edges) - Lelli-Bot Glitter pots
Red Satin Mirri card - stash
Pearls - stash
Flexmarkers

Today is not as hot as yesterday so I'm a very happy bunny - the cats seem happier as well!  Donny has been wandering into my craft room and flopping down on the floor with a huge - and I mean huuuuuge - sigh!  He then gets up and winds himself around my legs until I get the brush out!!  This is one weird cat, if either of us puts our hand down towards his head he flinches then claws come out and he thwacks us!  If I put a PINK brush down towards his head he bumps into it and I have to then groom him - 10 minutes later (or longer if he feels like it) he falls over onto the floor and nods off.  Half an hour later he's 'asking' me (same tactics as before) for another groom.  I'm sure I've removed enough fur to stuff an old settee!  Must admit he looks a lot less fluffy now and much cooler!  I just need to sort out his flatulence problem and he'll be even more gorgeous - just like his missus, Blossom.

That's me sorted, I hope you will enter our challenge this month and thank you for checking out my blog.  I'm just off to do some commenting before I start my next card.

Big hugs to you all and thank you for your comments.  Take great care and keep cool!

CRAFTY TIME CHALLENGE - JULY - PUNCHES OR DIES

Hi there - well it's another scorcher here and I am flagging!  I should have posted yesterday but we went out to Taylor's Garden Centre (near Southwell, Notts) and I had a little pre-birthday treat - three scoops of ice cream with chocolate sauce drizzled over the top and a cool glass of ginger beer!  It really was bliss but I felt sooo slightly guilty and full for the rest of the afternoon - probably more to do with the Ginger Beer than anything!  Fortunately the guilt seems to have 'waned' overnight and I'm not thinking about it anymore!  lol.
Here's my card for our challenge this month - naturally this was another lovely one for me because I had to use punches or dies and I have the odd one or two.  Oh before my blog pal makes a comment (Sue J!), the butterfly is the only one I've used before!

I'll be perfectly honest now - I'm not at all happy with my colouring - I'd completed everything except the hair and the background and then it went soooo wrong.  I started off with blonde (ish) hair but couldn't get it right so it ended up dark!  I thought I would pop some dotty things around the image and then carried on with the dots all over the circle!  Just like when I was 3 or 4 and at ballet, I couldn't manage this little dance step but suddenly the penny dropped and once I'd got it I couldn't stop!!!  I must have felt somewhat daft 'cos I told me mum that it made me legs ache and I didn't want to do it any more!  Never even had a tutu or ballet shoes - just me plimsolls and me vest and knickers!!!!!!!!!  Back to the image (no not of me in me vest and knickers), I think I will colour this again (sometime) and replace the one on the card.

This month we have been sponsored by Sherri Baldy and you can find her shop here.

The prize for our challenge is
Winner to receive
1st Place - 3 images
2nd Place 2 images
3rd Place - 1 image

It's well worth entering 'cos there are three chances of winning which is lurvely!!
Ingredients

7" x 7" white card base - Anna Marie Designs
Digi - 'Messy Bessy' IMG813 - Sherri Baldy
Blue Card and Silver Card - stash
Lil'inkers Dies - Stitched Circle die
Tonic Dies - Decorative Envelope Dies Set 2
Memory Box Dies - Fabulous Phlox die
Memory Box Dies - Pippi Butterfly die
Memory Box Dies - Floral Vine
Flat Back Pearls on String - Brenda's Ribbons and Lace here

I know lots of you out there have lovely dies so please have a go and enter our challenge, it goes on until the end of July!

Must be off now 'cos it's almost dinnertime and we have a curry - yum yum.  Oh and an update, as of last week I have lost 33.5 lbs (so that was another 2.5lbs).  Not sure what it will be after that ice cream though lol!!!!  4lbs to go and I'll be in the next stone down!  Woo hoo!

Have a great rest of the weekend and take care in this heat.  Did you catch the thunderstorms yesterday - wow it woke me at around 3.30 am so I was watching the lightning - although most of it was above the clouds but the thunder was rumbling on and on and on!  I felt sorry for all the little furry and not so furry animals out in it, I just hope they had some shelter.

Big hugs to you all
