CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND - CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS!

Hi there - just letting you know that there is another Challenge over at CCAYR this month and the theme is Christmas Ornaments!  Yup I know it is only April but as I've said (many times before ... sorry) you can't start early enough making your Christmas cards - especially when you have loads to do.    This is one that I will probably hand deliver and not trust to the Royal Mail - bless!
The bauble is a die from Couture Creations, which is a favourite, and the poinsettia is a Spellbinders one which I cut out several times in parchment,  adding some opaque white seed beads to the centres of each one.  I decided against using yellow because I wanted to keep the card red and white with a hint of gold for the sentiment and the top of the bauble.  The other dies are listed below.

Ingredients

7" x 7" white card - Anna Marie Designs
Holly Jolly Christmas Collection die - Couture Creations Dies
Layered Poinsettia die - Spellbinders Dies
Pine Needle Border die - Memory Box Dies
Giovanna Snowflake die - Memory Box Dies
Happy Christmas sentiment die - Cheery Lynn Dies
Holly Flourish Emb. Folder - Tattered Lace Folders
Ribbon, Beads, Glitter - Stash

I hope you can join us over at CCAYR and enter a card or three into our Challenge - not only will you have some Christmas cards in your stand by pile but you could also win the challenge!  This month we are being sponsored by Dee Dee's Digis

Thank you so much for checking out my card and for all the comments on my last two over the weekend - it really is a busy time of the month for many DT's, but  your comments are all read and digested - have you seen Mrs Duck's comments (especially the one concerning my Easter lamb - that lady has one heck of an imagination, although it takes one to know one!!!).

Must be orf now as this post is being scheduled and I want to watch a programme called 'Code of a Killer' about the man who discovered DNA fingerprinting.  These and medical programmes all fascinate me - might tell you about my Op. Theatre experience one day.

Catch you again soon with another card for a DT challenge!

Loads of hugs to you all and please take care.

Good afternoon everyone and a special welcome to my new follower Kevin, you are most welcome and I hope you enjoy the warbles and wafflings that go on here on Planet Susie!!!

This fortnight the challenge over at OSAAT is to make a card for Easter/Passover.  I chose this little digi from Ali Peeps over on the Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet but I didn't realise how difficult I would find it colouring him - this is my second try!  The poor little mite looks like a lamb with a No 1 haircut!  As you can tell, I am still learning with my colouring - especially furry things :o)   He is really cute though!

We have a digi and paper pack for you to win ......

The whole DT loves to see what you create for us so please enter your cards in our challenge this fortnight.

THROUGH THE PURPLE HAZE - APRIL - ANYTHING GOES!!!

Hi there everyone - this is my card for the TTPH challenge and there is news!!!  Our challenges have moved from weekly to monthly - giving you lots more time to get your entries in!  We have two sponsors this month but my digi is from Eiglassing hand drawn digis.  This is 'Been Shopping Lola?' - not like me at all!

I thought she needed to be bright and springlike and found this paper in my stash - lurvely.  Everything was going well until I used a slightly leaky Promarker and I made a delightful splodge on the TOTALLY finished image just beside her hair.  Many many years ago this would have caused a panic and a total restart - but these days I have the answer!   I just find my really small flower dies and then I pop a few die cuts on the pic itself and add a few larger ones to the bottom border.  Splodge now gone!

As for the lace - my friend Sue J (Olliesmam) told me about a place on Facebook (I know I'm not an FB fan but I am getting used to it more because of my DT work) where you can buy metres of lace, bags of buttons, ribbons, pearls etc and the laces are really striking!!  This place is called Brenda's Lace and Ribbon Specials, you have to join to be able to buy, however you will become addicted - that's a promise!

Ingredients

7" x 7" White card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi - Been Shopping Lola from Eiglassing Hand Drawn Digi Stamps
Patterned Card - DCVW Glitter Stack 8" x 8" pad
Stitched Snow Drifts die - Die'namics Dies
Multi Flower die - Lea'bilities Dies
Heart Banner die - La La Land Dies
Sentiment 1 die - Di-Lites - Spellbinders Dies
Derwent Frame die - Tattered Lace Dies
Flexmarkers
Lace - Brenda's Lace and Ribbon Specials on Facebook
Ribbon - stash

I hope you can enter our Anything Goes challenge 'cos there's looooads of time for you to make your creation(s).  Just remember not to enter any more than 10 challenges (including ours).

Thank you for popping by my blog and for leaving me some lovely comments on my cards.  Take care and have a great Easter weekend.  As I'm sitting here typing there is a Robin in the tree down the garden and he is singing his little heart out - it is a really fiddly tune - if you know what I mean - he's up and down the scale like a  ...... no I won't say what I was thinking ...... suffice it to say, he is extremely talented.

Ta ta for now then peeps.

Hugs to you all
