GET WELL CARD FOR A LOVELY BLOG FRIEND!

Hi there blog friends, I made this Get Well card waaaay back in January.  I never got around to posting it (at least I can't find it on my blog - lol) so I thought it was high time that I did.  I just love House Mouse designs but don't use them enough and I had some Get Well images just begging to be used.   This is the card I made for my friend -

The wording on the board the mousey is holding just makes me giggle - every furbie  'parent' can relate to this!

Ingredients

7" x 7" white card blank - Anna Marie Designs
'How to Recover Quickly' stamp - House Mouse 'Get Well Soon' selection
Digi sentiment - free from t'internet
Craftstyle paper - Papermaker Card Pad
Gold card, Brown paper - Create and Craft
5" x 7" Matting Basics die - Spellbinders Dies
Flower die - Spellbinders Dies (sorry did not make a note of this)
Adhesive Paper Ribbon - Kay & Co (soooooo old!)
Promarkers
Gems from stash

I hope this one brings a smile to your face - it made me giggle when I saw it again today.

Oh and whilst I'm here I must tell you a little story!!!  The maestro (bless him) is always really good when I screech that I have come across a huge eight-legged beastie that needs removing 'toot sweet'!!!  The other day he saw an item on the TV which said that if you put a conker in each corner of a room they would keep those eight-legged horrors at bay.   I'll try anything once!!!

On Wednesday morning off we trotted to find a Horse Chestnut tree to raid - actually I was just nipping to the optician to get my new glasses so we did a detour past a couple of spreading chestnut trees (go on Christine - start singing!!).   Once home, I washed my two tonnes (metric doncha know!!) of conkers and poddled around the house placing them in the corners, along the skirting boards and especially by the doors - the beggars that come in our house are so bloomin' big that they walk through the doors wearing hob-nailed boots!!!  That night I went to bed feeling really safe and free from those rotten critters!   Well peeps, that rosy feeling did not last long - off I went to bed on Friday night (left the maestro watching some News programme or other) and there on the wall was the hairiest beastie ever - wearing brand new Doc Martens!  One huuuuuge scream later up comes the maestro to rescue this damsel in distress!  Perhaps we didn't get enough conkers - perhaps they were the wrong size .... who knows .... they are still there though 'cos Blossom and Donny love batting them around with their little paws ... aahhhhhh!

Thank you for stopping by and having a quick look at my cards - if you have been kind enough to leave me a comment I really am grateful.  Sorry to bore you, once again, about my beastie phobia - my little blog matey Jenny told me about something that she has at home which keeps them away - I am just off to find her email - I kept it just in case!

Big hugs to you all - enjoy the rest of your weekend.

CCC(20) - CHRISTINE'S THEME - A WINTER WONDERLAND..... BRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Good morning everyone out there in blogland - I hope you are all well and crafting!   Because I have to post my DT card for the OSAAT challenge tomorrow I am posting my CCC card a day early - I don't think my fellow CCC members will mind though, we have a lovely little coven oops - club.  Anyway this fortnight it was Christine's turn to choose a theme so she chose 'Winter Wonderland' and I thought of a little village - in the wilds somewhere - totally covered in snow, where I could make another snow angel (providing Graham was there to help me get up off me knees) - ooooouch!!!

I have this gorgeous, rather large, rubber stamp by Anita which I thought would really fit the idea I had in my head!   Then I 'found' most of my snowflake dies (just had to mention this for Sue J), cut them out in glitter card and glued them around the stamped area.   It didn't take too much colouring, as you can tell, so I made this card in an afternoon - yeehaaa!   Another bonus is that it's also very flat - for posting!

Ingredients

7" x 7" White Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Pale Blue backing card - stash
Winter scene rubber stamp - Anita's Stamps (very very old)
Merry Christmas sentiment - Stamps Away
Delicate Snowflake Emb. Folder - Tattered Lace
Giovanna Snowflake die - Poppy Stamps Dies
Lindeman Snowflake, Bristol Snowflake, New Castle Snowflake and Rizza Snowflake dies - Memory Box Dies
Snowflake plate DIE 100-F - I.O. Dies
Flexmarkers
Pinflair Pearl Wand (for the blobs!)
Glitter

I quite like this simple 'quick' card and, once again, it's another one in me box for Christmas!

Thank you for stopping by my blog, I hope you enjoyed the visit and, if you managed to leave me a comment, I am really grateful.

Please take great care of yourselves, I'll be back soon to add a few challenges.

Big hugs to you all

CRAFTY CALENDAR SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE - LEAVES AND LACE

Hello everyone out there, I hope you are all keeping well and crafting.  It's definitely turned to cooler weather now and I lurve it, autumn is my favourite time of year, have I ever said that before ????  I am definitely feeling loads perkier!

Anyway, over on Crafty Calendar we have a new monthly challenge and the theme is Leaves and Lace.   When I saw this I had loads of ideas in my mind about what I could do (there's a first)  and knew exactly what papers I was going to use.   We are being sponsored by  Art by Miran this month, I love her images and she is giving 3 digis to the winner of our challenge - there are so many to choose from as well!!!

Just thought I would tell you that the mat underneath the digi image is something I had been playing with.   I've inked the embossing folders first before I popped them through me machine - not tried this before!  I really like the fact that some areas are minus the ink on this piece, so I decided to use it on my card.  I should have asked the maestro to take a pic before I cut it up - duh!!!

Ingredients

7" x 7" Kraft card - Anna Marie Designs
Digi - Autumn's Memoirs - Art by Miran
Enchantment paper pad - LOTV Nitwits Collection
Sentiments - LOTV Set 24 Sentiment Tags
Grand Circle die - Spellbinders Dies
Regency Swirls Embossing Folder - Die'sire Embossalicious Folders
Flexmarkers
Leaves - WOC
Berries - Hobby House Crafts
Skeleton Leaves - stash (Coo these are soooo old and one of the very first things I bought for my stash carrier bag - waaaaay before I got my Craft Room!)
Twine, Lace, Pearls and Peel Off Stickers - stash

Now, remember that you have until 8 October to get your creations made and entered into our challenge - I really would love to see them on there!!!

Whilst I am on I will just give you an update on furry babies!!!  Donny (Blossom's husband and love interest) is slowly being integrated into the family, he has always lived outside and we were hoping to get him 'sorted' before an adoption 'proper'.   This is mainly because of spraying - phwoar does it pong!!! - anyway he came in without us realising and was in all afternoon fast asleep on one of the dining room chairs under the table.  No spraying whatsoever!!!  This is happening all the time now and I firmly believe it's Blossom's Feliway (or cat spliff's).  He is still quite timid but he's getting more confident and once he is less shy we will take him to the V - E - T's!! for a blue brick job!   He is getting the same flea treatments as Blossom and has been wormed, so we are slowly progressing, he will be chipped at the same time as chopped!   Yayyyyy!

I will now leave you in peace, thank you for the nice comments I have received on my last two cards and also for the understanding you have shown me - I do appreciate it!  Please take care of yourselves and your families and if you have time to make a card for our challenge - please do so!!!!

Lots of big hugs to you all

CCC(19) - HAZEL'S THEME - SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH 'S'

Good morning everyone - this is my latest card for our little Christmas Card Club - I should have posted it yesterday but it coincided with my OSAAT DT post and I don't like posting two cards on the same day - yup I'm odd!  This fortnight it was Hazel's turn to choose a theme and she asked us to make a card with something beginning with 'S' on it.   I have a lovely rubber stamp with a Santa Claus image but I just couldn't get it to look right, maybe 'cos it is fairly small, so I put my 'tries' aside to use at a later date.   I had a trawl through my folder of what I call my 'Bought or Won' digis and came up with this one.   I have a gorgeous pad of 'First Edition' papers with a Nordic feel to them and that was it - a match made on Planet Susie!!!

This is another fairly flat card so wonderful for posting!    As usual the photo isn't picking up the glitter on the bottom of his jumper, the snow, the snowflake corner and the snowflake border.  In real life it really does sparkle and shine - two more 'S's methinks!

Ingredients

7" x 7" Kraft card - Anna Marie Designs
Nordic Christmas Paper Pad - First Edition
Christmas Tree No 3 die - Dee's Distinctively Dies
Snowflake Corner die - Memory Box Dies
Frosty Border die - Memory Box Dies
Large Circle die - Spellbinders Dies
Large Petite Scalloped die - Spellbinders Dies
Christmas Sentiment - LOTV
Gems - Papermania
Star Dust Stickles

I hope you like my Christmas card with the Nordic feel to it, I just love these papers so much.  I must thank Hazel for choosing this theme because I've enjoyed it and there was soooo much scope to it!   There's a huge pile of cards ready for Christmas now - yay!!!

Anyway ta ta for now peeps I shall pop round to see all the cards made by the CCC girls later - unless I have already visited you.

Please take care and if you need a hug, here's a virtual one just for you!!!

Big hugs to you all

OSAAT DT - CHALLENGE NO 219 - ANYTHING GOES WITH A DIE!

Well hello there peeps - I bet you are thinking "oh she's still here then" - I have been making a few cards but have neither posted them nor have I been commenting on my friends/followers blogs.  I have been commenting on my DT work however, but if someone had said "don't worry about it" I would have quite happily isolated myself even more.  I do feel guilty that I have 'ignored' my friends in blogland but this is something that builds up and happens to me every now and again and I want to hibernate.  'Nuff of that!

This week, the One Stitch at a Time challenge is back after the summer holidays (I'm pleased because I have had to get me bum in gear to get this card posted!!).  There are a few simple changes which you will be able to read about here on the site!  This is an 'Anything Goes' challenge but with the addition that you must use a die or dies on your project - no problem for the majority of my blog friends - eh girls/guys!!!   One of the changes is that our challenges are now fortnightly so I do hope you enter this one and use your favourite dies!  The prize will be 5 of the images that the DT have used for Challenge No 219 - you can see them on the OSAAT site (here) where all the cards made by my teamies are posted.

I cut my card blank out using the Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Circle die - I had to pop it through a few times because it had to be doubled/folded - if you see what I mean - me brain's still a on strike just a tad!
I paper pieced the umbrella but to ensure that the 'under' side of the brolly was different I went over the 'outer' side with my Flexmarkers to deepen the yellow/blue colour.  I was really pleased with the result!  I also added some Glossy Accents to her glasses to make them look the part!
I put a few daisies on the lower half to make the 'stop' for the easel and added a couple of stars - just 'cos I like them.
The sentiment was a freebie I found on t'internet but I retyped it in dark blue then cut it out with one of my pierced dies.

Ingredients

Rainy Day image - BBKakes at the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet
Card Blank - originally a 7" x 7" Pearl card - Anna Marie Designs
Little Sizzlets Paper Pad - Country (for umbrella)
Checked card - stash from QVC (I think) many years ago
Grand Scalloped Circle die - Spellbinders Dies
Stitched Star die - Lil'inkers Dies (USA)
Daisy and Leaf dies - Marianne Craftables Dies ref CR1272
Clouds (plus raindrops) - Cheery Lynn Dies
Ornamental pierced Tags 3 - Spellbinders Die D'Lites
Flexmarkers
Glossy Accents

I think I have waffled on enough and I don't want to bore you any further - lol!!  I can see Sue J (Olliesmam) going glazed already!  I would love to see your cards - or anything else you want to make - on the OSAAT challenge.  You have two weeks to get your favourite dies and image out before it closes - plenty of time (says she who takes forever)!!!

Thank you so much for popping over to check my card out - I really appreciate the fact that you are there for me, especially when I know that there are plenty of people a lot worse off than me.

Take care of yourselves - lots of big hugs to you all.
