CCC(14) - MAUREEN'S THEME - ANGELS

Well good morning peeps and fellow blogsters of the universe!  Another fortnight has passed by and we have another CCC challenge - the theme chosen by my friend Maureen (Scrappymo) - is 'Angels' ..... beautiful eh?  Here is my card (which I am scheduling .... again .... so fingers crossed).

The dark card is actually a burgundy colour but it looks brown in the pic, and the Maestro couldn't do anything to change it especially in the dreadful light on Friday.
I used an image out of the LOTV Christmas Angels (Set 16) to which I added a smidge of Wink of Stella to make it sparkle.   This is on her wings, the stars and the garland on her head, but it doesn't quite show up here.  It really is a very simple card and the only fiddly bit was the edge where I used a Tonic Header Fold die.   These aren't very long so I made the cut in the centre of the edge and then had to ensure that both the ends matched - I used a pair of Fiskars Corner Edger scissors to round them off.

Ingredients
7" x 7" White Card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Image - LOTV Christmas Angels (Set 16)
Burgundy card - Creative Expressions
Patterned Paper - LOTV Nitwit Collections (Woodland Wishes)
Sparkle Border die - Tattered Lace Dies
Christmas Pine die - Tattered Lace Dies
Christmas Sentiments die - Tattered Lace Dies
Header Fold die - Tonic Ornate Elegance Dies
Pierced Oval Stax - Die-namics Dies
Snowflake die plate - Cheery Lynn Dies
Pearls - Hobby House Crafts
Wink of Stella Pen (Yay!!!)
Stardust Stickles (on the snowflakes of course!)

This is another one that's quite flat, so extremely suitable for posting!  I quite like the Header Fold die but I need to practise with some bits of card before I actually use it on a fold - wish they were a little bit longer though!!!   I do sound like a right GOM don't I - (Grumpy Old Mare) I think it's the weather to be honest, we've had cloud all day today (Saturday) and it was so cold the Maestro (bless his little cotton socks) even put the heating on for an hour or two.  Blossom didn't know whether she wanted to stay in or go out so decided to sit on the mat by the back door, she then looked at Graham as if to say "Come on dad, switch the sunshine on!"   Oh were it sooooo easy!!

Anyway that's enough of me now, although I must say I have been thinking about Flora (Crafty Lark) today, I do hope she didn't get her titfer wet 'cos it looked glorious!  Bet her wellies got a bit of a bashing (although not sure when she was going).

Hope you are all bearing up, I do know that some of my friends are going through the mill at the moment so I am sending virtual hugs their way and that definitely includes those of you who are caring for a poorly family member.  Take care.

Hugs to you all

Here is my DT card for OSAAT challenge no 218 - Anything Goes.  The image comes with its own paperpack (although I didn't use it) and is called Princess Nataliya from Coosty Creations at the Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet.

The paper pack was in pinks but I really wanted to use some blue flowers - yup that's how my mind worked, I picked the flowers first and worked around them ........ and I wanted to use some more of the gorgeous papers from Brenda Pinnick's collection.  They are so delish!!!

CCC(13) - CAROL'S THEME - PENGUINS!

Grrrrrr - I have just been to read my emails and thought it funny, 'cos there would be at least one comment from you, but there was nothing, nada, zilch, zero!!!  I have just been in to check my blog and no Scheduled Post!!!   It seems as if I am lucky with one out of three at the moment!!!!  Sorry to the other CCC girls who wondered where I was - then again better late than not at all!!

Well hello there lovely peeps and fellows blogsters!  Thank you so much for popping over to take a peek at my blog, I really am pleased and chuffed that you have taken the time to visit.  I have scheduled my card for 8.30am, so I am still snoozing (Graham would argue 'snoring' - as if!!!) under the duvet ... lurvely!!!
Anyway, Carol chose the theme of 'Penguins' for our fortnightly CCC challenge and I must admit I was really looking forward to this 'cos they are gorgeous creatures and a favourite of mine.

I didn't have a penguin stamp to hand so I looked on t'internet and found this image and the North Pole sign on the Colouring Pages site.  They do look as if they are enjoying themselves don't they.  The dotty paper has red, light green and dark green dots on it although it doesn't quite show on here.

I asked the Maestro to take the pic for me but the light today is bloomin' awful, so he did his very best as usual,  all I can see is grey cloud ..... wonderful!!

Ingredients

7" x 7" White Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Penguin image/North Pole sign - Colouring Pages from the t'internet

There we have it, another Christmas card in the box for later this year, nice and flat for posting as well!  I hope you like it and if you have had the time, left me a word or three.  I shall be round to check all the CCC Christmas cards later on - ie when I am fully awake.

Thanks once again for visiting me and for any comments you may have left, I am so grateful to you all.

Big hugs to you and please take care.

OSAAT DT - CHALLENGE NO 216 - USE A DIGI

Hello there fellow blogsters and friends - today I am posting my DT card for OSAAT Challenge no 216 and the theme is Use a Digi - couldn't be simpler really!  If you enter the challenge using a Stitchy Bear Outlet digi you could win the digis that the DT used in Challenge no 214 - even if you use a digi from elsewhere you could still win a $3 prize.  Soooooooo easy - why don't you have a go it's really nice seeing your cards on the OSAAT blog.

The digi Jenny (my Teamie) chose for us this week is from Hope Jacare at the Sitchy Bear Digi Outlet and it is called 'Vase of Lovely Flowers' somewhat self-explanatory methinks!!  This is the second card I had made using this digi, the first one I just wasn't happy with so I made this one instead.  However, I will re-do (if that is a word!!!) the first one and will post it later on.  It could turn into a 'happy accident' eh!!!

My card has been Wink of Stella'd to within an inch of it's life - I promise you!!!  It's my favourite new pen.

I had some dark pink card which I wanted to use so I used everything to go with this colour!  As you know, I am partial to a little bit of purple  so I chose that as my secondary colour.   Coo, I sound as if I know what I'm doing but I don't really!   BTW those little butterflies were the waste from a Spellbinder die - I keep everything! - they were white but I dabbed a little of the Victorian Velvet DI on them and when they were dry, I added the Clear Wink of Stella.  Sorry that it doesn't show up as much on the pics - the maestro did his absolute best!!

Ingredients
Digi - Vase of Lovely Flowers by Hope Jacare at Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet
7" x 7" White Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Pink Card - Basal Card from C & C
Pierced Oval die - Die-Namics Dies
Stitched Scallops Border die - La La Land Dies (used to cut up the sentiment)
Garden Lattice embossing folder - Spellbinders M-Bossabilities
Flexmarkers
Flowers - WOC
Hearts on wire, Ribbon and Flower Charm all from stash
Butterflies are waste from a Spellbinders Circle Butterfly die

I love purple and this pink together - really yummy!  I also managed to use some items that I had had for ages in my stash, ie ribbon, butterflies and the charm.

I mentioned yesterday that I would update you on Blossom's diet - we have always fed our cats the same ie same amount, same time of day etc but somehow Blossom just put on weight after her 'hysterectomy'!!  We have halved her food and made sure she exercises (guffaws) every day but... we have found out that she pushes Donny (who is fed in his little shed) out of the way to lick up whatever he has left and then she takes a nap in 'said shed'!  Basically she is her mother's furry daughter so we are having to make sure Donny leaves nothing in his dish for her to 'snack' on!  We have to do something though, 'cos she is so round she is not 'washing' her bits and pieces - she can't reach them.   I've told her that, as a teenager, she is far to old for her human mother to be doing this for her and it is sooooooooo unsavoury!  Well, back to the drawing board, the next step is to give her even less food - well give it a try anyway.  I'll let you know how she goes - Mrs Duck, do you think she is too laid back to bother about her middle???  Just a thought.

Hugs to you all and thanks so much for stopping by my blog, I've enjoyed the comments I've read on yesterday's card, thank you so much for them all.  Take lots of care and enjoy the weather if it is sunny where you are.

CRAFTY CALENDAR JUNE CHALLENGE - PETALS AND PEARLS

Good afternoon peeps - and a big welcome to my new follower Margaret (Granmargaret), I hope you are all well and aren't suffering from the awful rain that's been forecast!  No sign of it here ............ yet!!!

Well today I am posting my second card for the Crafty Calendar Challenge Blog (here).  Our theme for June is Petals and Pearls and I am sure there are loads of you out there who will be making a card using the above as embellishments this month ... so come over and join in the challenge.  We are being sponsored by Dilly Bean Stamps and were given some gorgeous images to use.   They are also giving an image as a prize for the winner of the challenge.  The image I chose is called Penny's Heart and she is really beautiful.

I haven't used these images before and am really thrilled to have been given the chance to use one for the DT.  You really should check them out because there are so many to choose from!  I used a new die (on the dark purple card) called Aurora from the Die'sire 'cut and create' dies range - just scrummy!  My petals were from WOC and all the pearls around the edge were from Anna Marie Designs, the little spray of pearls came from my stash.

Ingredients

Digi Image - Penny's Heart from Dilly Beans Stamps
7" x 7" white card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Paper Pad - Promises by Nitwit from LOTV
Purple card - AC Textured Cardstock
Aurora die - Die'sire Cut and Create Dies
Layering Circle die - Tonic Dies
Sm Flower Punch - Nellie Snellen Punches
Flexmarkers
Pearl string - Anna Marie Designs
Flowers - WOC
Spray Pearls, Paper Ribbon Lace - stash

I hope you can enter our challenge, I would love to see all your petals and pearls!!!  I will be back tomorrow with another card for your perusal but I would like to thank you for stopping by and for having a quick check of my projects.  Thanks for any comments you may have made re my cards or re anything else I may have mentioned in dispatches.  Will give you an update on Blossom's diet tomorrow  Don't get excited though!!!

Big hugs to you all and please take care.

CCC(12) - SUE J'S (OLLIESMAM) THEME - NATIVITY

Hello there wonderful peeps - and welcome to my two new followers Linda and Lena, thank you so much for popping over to Planet Susie (a mad place!!)  Apologies for this being a little late, I should have posted it this morning but my card was only half way finished!   The marvellous maestro has now taken the piccy and here I am - better late than never methinks.

This fortnight it was my blog bud Sue J's (Olliesmam) turn to pick the theme for our CCC and she chose Nativity.  I found my pic on the internet from a Bing Colouring Page 'cos I couldn't find one in my collection of stamps or toppers!  I didn't start it until yesterday because I had left my Mojo in Scarborough with the awful wet weather.  I've posted a picture below of how it looked through the hotel window - bloomin' YUK!!!

Anyway here is my CCC Nativity card for you to look at -

The paper covering the actual card is more of a red rather than a purple but the daylight changed it slightly.  I feel I should have made the skyline a little darker now that I see it on here but then I would have had to make the sand darker so I left it.  No wonder my cards take so long, I am always tweaking here and there.  I said TWEAKING!!!!

Ingredients
7" x 7" white card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Nativity image - Internet (Bing Colouring Pages)
Christmas clear sentiment stamp - LOTV
Woodland Wishes Paper Pad - Nitwit at LOTV
Gold Circles One die - Spellbinders Dies
Star of Wonder die - Memory Box Dies
Poinsettia die - Britannia Dies
Holly Corner die - Cheery Lyn Dies
Flexmarkers
Card Candi - Craftwork Cards
Black card from stash

I am so grateful to you for stopping by my blog and would like to thank you for all the comments on my last card - they made me feel very happy and are such a boost to my confidence.  Before I leave you, I just wanted to post a couple of pics from a sunny Scarborough but I couldn't find any so I hope you will excuse these very wet and miserable looking ones.

Sue J was all for going surfing, but as I have a leak in me wetsuit we decided it wasn't a good idea, who knows what would happen if I got waterlogged around me flippers.  Shame I had left me puncture repair outfit at home.

On a happier note, Sue had made me a gorgeous wooden tag with vellum butterflies and a beautiful verse on it together with a Friendship booklet containing the picture of us both with Crafty Bob at the NEC - if I put the picture on the mantelpiece it should keep the cat away from the fire though!!!  Only joking - I was truly chuffed to bits with my pressies - (there was also some lace, pearls and ribbon trim for me to play with - yum yum!).  I think we rattled and cackled on for over 5 hours - we both have the most patient and adorable hubsters in the world and we are looking forward to next time already!!!

Oh well, I have kept you long enough, so thank you once again for stopping by and if you have had time to leave me some comments, I am grateful to you.

Big hugs to you all and take care of yourselves.
