BIRTHDAY CARD FOR OLLIESMAM'S HUBBY PAUL (AKA OLLIESDAD!)

Hello there friends and fellow bloggers I apologise for not blogging more often but, as I have waffled on before, I am not a 'quick' card maker and it takes me ages to decide what I am going to do - even when I am given a digi to work with!!   I just cannot make a card every day and I remember someone said that this is supposed to be enjoyable and not stressful!

Anyhow as I know this has been received, I can now post it on here.   I realised from Sue J's blog that it was her hubby's birthday this week so, doing my Sherlock bit, I found out that it was today and I quickly (well for me) made a card because he has reached the magic big 60!!  Mind you I only whispered it on his card with two very small numbers on the golf balls!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL!!

I am hoping Paul liked this one - it is only a little bit cheeky and the image is nothing like him (which I explained on the inside front cover- lol).  I know nothing about golf of course so I don't have a clue as to what the sentiment really means, but I do know that he does.

Ingredients

7" x 7" White Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Playing Through Stamps (image and sentiment)  - Creative Expressions
Rounded Corner Rectangle dies - Spellbinders
Marker Micro Font die - Die-versions
Blue & Green text. card - American Crafts (12" x 12")
Father Knows Best paper pad - LOTV
Golf Balls on Tees - free from t'internet

I hope you like it as well, thank you for stopping by and (if you have had the time) thank you for any comments you may have made.  I have had loads of really lovely comments on my cards recently and am so pleased that some of my little tales make you smile - I do believe in sharing!!!   When I am well, I do see the funny side of loads of things and I can't help telling you all - even if I then start to waffle (eh Jenny??) lol.

I shall be orf now, so huge hugs to you all and take care.

OSAAT DT CARD - CHALLENGE NO 200 - USE A DIGI

Good morning peeps and fellow blogsters out there - I do hope you are having a good weekend.   Today (Friday) I am scheduling my card for the OSAAT DT - the Challenge runs for a week and the theme is for you to use a digi.   My teamie chose Ankhi by Priyanka from Stitchy Bear Outlet.   Ankhi means 'eyes' apparently, so that's another new thing I've learned on a Friday which (as I have mumbled before) means I get another wrinkle by Saturday!  I am now resembling a Chinese Shar Pei - mind you I do think they are rather cute and lovable!
I decided that she would look nice in sort of Turquoise(y) blues so her ankhis are very blue!  (I use tissues meself ;o)).   I used my Flexmarkers to colour her in but I'm still practising with the highlights on hair and haven't quite mastered it yet - will keep on trying!
There are some little birdies flying around her and they made me smile 'cos they look as if they are wearing syrups*!  I was going to colour them in a different shade (ginger??) but I didn't give in to my naughtiness, so I gave them a deeper blue tummy instead!    I even made a little pin with turquoise and blue coloured pearls to go with the flower embellishment at the side!

I would love it if you took part in our challenge this week, check out the site to see what gorgeous creations my Teamies have made - some of them have also made cards using this digi and they are brilliant.

Ingredients

7" x 7" White Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi - 'Ankhi' by Priyanka from Stitchy Bear Outlet
Turq. Blue card and patterned paper from Create and Craft
Snippets of green for the sprigs
Grand Ovals die - Spellbinders
Grand Large Scalloped Oval die - Spellbinders
Small sprig - Memory Box
Sentiment - Anna Marie Designs
Flexmarkers
 Flowers - WOC -
Ribbon, charms, gems - stash

I hope you like this one, I shall look forward to reading any comments I may receive.  It really is kind of you to stop by and check out my cards.  Please take care during this weather and I wish you happy crafting.

Must just tell you that Colin died last week, he had survived several weeks on his daily replenished vegetation and had grown but I just think it was the wrong time of year for him.

Big hugs to you all

CCC (4) - HAZEL'S THEME - SNOWFLAKES AND/OR ALL WHITE

Morning to you all - although this is scheduled I expect it will be raining here and where you are, and that is all I am saying about this bloomin' horrid and destructive weather!

I would just like to say a warm welcome to my new followers,  you are most welcome and I  hope you like my creations.  I do tend to waffle, as you will soon realise but I usually see the funny side of lots of things that happen to me and tend to share them - ooops!   Oh and that reminds me that I have a candy to put on my blog - any month day now.

Well, this Sunday I have two cards to post - one for the CCC (Christmas Card Club) and the other one for the OSAAT Challenge.   Because I prefer to post one a day I post my CCC card on Saturday (and ask the other girls in the group to forgive me for being early - lol).  This time it is Hazel's turn to pick a theme and she has chosen Snowflakes and/or all white.  I remembered I had a rubber stamp on a wooden block (yes, I know, I do have some besides my digis) that I bought several years ago and I still love it!!  I'm also really into my LOTV paper pads at the moment so decided I would use Frosty Christmas 'cos there are lots of blues in there.

Unfortunately the picture doesn't show it, but I stamped the image in Sparkling Sky Blue Brilliance Archival Pigment ink then embossed it with Cosmic Shimmer clear embossing powder.  This gives the image a gorgeous shiny wet look!  I used some of the Pinflair 'Ice Diamond' around the edge to make it look frosty.

I've decorated the inside of the card with the same papers but this was after the maestro took the pic.  I thought I would have a go at putting a few blobs around the image 'cos it needed 'something' but instead of blobs they look more like polka dots with pimples!  Methinks I will have to ask my pal Sue J (Olliesmam) to give me a Masterclass in blobbing!  I can hear her laughing all the way from Cleveland (not Ohio)!

Ingredients
7" x 7" White Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Stampendous Rubber Stamp - Winter Sprite
Blue Card - Create and Craft
LOTV - Frosty Christmas Paper Pad
Poppy Stamps - Giovanni Snowflake die
Memory Box - Joy Script die
IO Dies - Snowflake Plate die
Brilliance Archival Ink Pad - Sparkling Sky Blue
Cosmic Clear Embossing Powder
Pinflair - Ice Diamond (Glitter stuff)
Pearly Doodles (for the pimples)
Gems from my stash

I used the Memory Box Die 'Joy' script that my friend Maureen (Scrappymo) gave to me when she came to England last year.  I cut one in a scrap of blue and one in a scrap of white then put them on another piece of white, slightly offset to give a shadow effect, and cut around them.  I did this on a card last year and quite liked it so thought I would do it again - ta da!  I also thought that this word really describes the look on the face of the snowflake 'Winter Sprite' as she dances.   It's OK if you think I'm barking - I won't deny it!

Thank you for stopping by and again a thank you to my new followers, you are very kind!  If you have managed to leave a comment I am soooo pleased and I will be over to your blogs asap!  I will be posting my DT card for OSAAT tomorrow so please check it out.

Big hugs and I hope you are all well or at least getting better if you have been poorly.

OSAAT DT CARD - CHALLENGE NO 198 - USE A DIGI

Morning everyone out there in blogland.  I do hope you are enjoying your weekend ..... despite the horrible weather - yup I'm off on one again, I can cope with cold, I can cope with wet ..but definitely not together!!  And .... I am beginning to sound more and more like a GOM - grumpy old mare!!

However, I posted a card yesterday and I am posting another today so it can't all be bad eh!!

This is my DT card for OSAAT Challenge No 198 this week - and the image was my choice for our little team.  I adore this fairy, she is so cute, you can find her HERE.   This set of digis includes a ladybird, dragonfly, flowers, snail and butterfly - it's called the Babybug set and is from BBKakes at the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet.  Check out what my teamies have created as well!

Once again this Challenge is 'Anything Goes' and if you use a digi from Stitchy Bear you can win all the digis we used in Challenge No 196!  You can still win a prize if you use another digi, so please have a go!!
I lurve this ladybird die (until now unused) and decided I would just have to put it on my design.  I had been watching C & C the other day whilst 'tidying' my desk and saw how the lady (apologies for not remembering who) was using a large ball tool around the edges of her petals to give them a 'dome' shape.  I usually just blob the tool all over the underside without any rhyme or reason!  I decided to give this a go on my ladybirds and they really look like proper bugs - not flat at all, just nicely rounded.  Oh btw the ladybirds and flowers were made out of little bits from my snippets box so I shall be visiting the Snippets Playground Miss Di.
As with yesterday's card, I have tweaked the foliage swirls so that some of them stand away from the card and I also perched a ladybird on top of one.  I edged the card, flowers and foliage with a little bit of Spun Sugard DI, just to take away the starkness of the white.

Ingredients
6" x 6" Scalloped Edge Card - Create and Craft
BBKakes Babybug digi set - Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet
Craftstyle paper - Papermaker Pad
Rounded Square Die - Spellbinders
Flourish Die - Tonic
Lady Bug Dies - Elizabeth Crafts
Blooms Four - Spellbinders D-Lites
Marker Microfont Alphabet Die - Die-Versions
Flexmarkers/Copics
Spun Sugar Distress Ink

May I thank you so much for stopping by and an extra thank you if you have managed to leave a comment.  It would be lovely to see some of your creations over on Challenge No 198 at OSAAT, so please try!

Big hugs to you all

CCC - MARY'S THEME - FEATURE A HEART/THE COLOUR RED

Good morning peeps - what a bloomin' week of weather - soggy and snowy (well six flakes but it WAS snow)!!!  So sorry if you are still struggling with floods, I am sending you a virtual hug!

This weekend I am posting two cards  - one for our Christmas Card Club and the other for the OSAAT DT.  I don't really like posting two on one day so will post the CCC card today and the OSAAT card tomorrow.

The lovely Mary, in South Carolina, has given us the theme of 'feature a heart/the colour red' - now me being on me Planet wasn't sure if this was an either/or ... or ... both.  Such is the world of Planet Susie - I could have asked buuuuuut ... I had a huuuuuge light bulb moment and I saw the card I wanted to do in my mind's eye (no pun intended).  This rarely happens - so rare in fact it is probably only the second light bulb moment I have had - lol!

I made a couple of white or white plus a smidge of colour Christmas cards and I really love them so I guess this is where this one has come from - hope you like it.

The ivy leaves with shadows (top two on the right hand side and the three on the heart) are not glued down and I have tweaked them slightly so they stand off the card.
I used a Sizzix Embossing Folder 'Christmas Dots' for the background 'cos it looks like falling snow but as the design is only 5.5" long I had a gap at the bottom.  I had made it wider by popping the folder back through my machine but I didn't want to mess it up by faffing about any further.  Another light bulb moment (good grief!!) I cut out my gorgeous Border Flourish from Joanna Sheen's Signature Dies and popped it on the blank bit, added 6 red stones and wahey!!   I think the rest is self explanatory and I am chuffed with it!

Ingredients
7" x 7" White Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Cheery Lynn Die - Heart to Heart Doily
Britannia Dies - 3 x Poinsettias
Joanna Sheen Signature Dies - Ivy Flourish
Joanna Sheen Signature Dies - Ivy Corner
Joanna Sheen Signature Dies - Border Flourish
Sizzix Embossing Folder - Christmas Words/Dots
Gold Beads, Red Stones and Red card from stash
Creative Expression Sentiment - Pine Cone Christmas stamps

I hope you manage to leave a comment or two to let me know what you think,  I am always pleased to think you have popped over to check my blog out and thank you from the bottom of my heart!  I don't tend to make many 'die cut' cards but I love doing them - although stamping and colouring will always be my favourite.

Please take care and if you (or your other half) are feeling poorly, please get better soon.  Have a good weekend and if you have time to craft - Eccellente!!!

Loads of big hugs to you all
