SUCH A BUSY LITTLE BEE!!

Hi there ladies - I need to tell you that the Challenge over at Lady Anne's blog should be Anything Goes - not Spring as I told you in my previous post!  I have just slapped my hand for being a silly billy! Duh - as if I ever change!!!!!!!

Hello there fellow blogsters!!!  As usual I am grovelling 'cos I haven't managed to comment on all of your creations/blogs.  Please accept my apologies, the reason is that I started to fill my new cupboard and then realised that I needed to move all the stuff about in my room.  I have loads of drawers on castors and I have taken all my card blanks out of the drawers so that I can put my card/paper in there.  I am having to sort through 7,000,000 cards and envelopes (I never exaggerate!!) so that I have the ones I use on a regular basis close to me and the others can go in the cupboard - naturally at the bottom.  Failing that, I will be getting rid of some of them.    This is why hubby is still stubbing his toes!  No need to try and make me feel guilty Sue and Jenny - I am shameless!!  LOL!

I had made a card for my DT challenge and then the images were changed so I have used the basis of my card with a different image and am posting it on my own blog.  I love this image, she really is a cute little bee-girl.

I haven't popped a sentiment on there because I don't have an occasion for this one yet.  I put a little Stardust on her wings and the flowers and a little glaze on the buttons at her neck and on her shoes.  Oh and I also glazed the tips of her antennae.  I wanted a hexagon shape because I thought of a honeycomb when I was putting it all together.  I didn't have a very big one so I cut out the Grand Scalloped circles and then cut the scallops off to form the said hexagon!  Yay an idea that worked!!

I hope you leave a comment if you can, I would like to thank you so much for visiting my blog and having a peep at my work.  I know I tell you how happy it makes me to read your comments and last Thursday even my hairdresser said that my blog was the best thing that had happened to me recently.  I really was down after our two furry girls and our feral furry boy died last year but blogging has certainly helped me along.  As hubby is my photographer and carpenter (stop laughing) I feel he has been helped as well.

Anyway I will leave you to your new day - I hope you manage to craft a little.  Remember, the dust will come back tomorrow!  I am intending to do my ironing - tomorrow!!!

Huge crafty hugs to you all

LADY ANNE'S CHALLENGE NO 6 - 'SPRING' THEME

Hello there my blog friends - I just wanted to post my first DT card today.   There is a new challenge over on Lady Anne's 'Stamp' Challenge No 6 - http://www.ladyanneschallenges.com/stamp-challenge.html.  The theme is Anything Goes and here is my card - a Chameleon in his rainforest home!!  The digi is from Crafting with Jack -http://craftingwithjack.weebly.com/.   They are the sponsors for this challenge which runs from February 20 right up until April 3 2013.  The winner will be drawn using a Random Number Generator on April 3.  You can use either a digi stamp or rubber stamp - the world is your lobster - lol.

I chose the chamelon from the digis we were given because he is unusual and not my normal sort of style.  However, I did add my cheeky side with the sentiment which was a freebie on Ginger's House blog.

Of course hubster had his input and wanted a fly in there for the chameleon's tea so I found a teeny tiny one on the internet (freebie site) and fussy cut it out - just to please him!!

This final pic is just to show how I have piled the leaves up on the front of the image.  I think I could have put more leaves around 'Ken' the chameleon instead of sky - but it is spring in the rainforest!!!!!

Ingredients

7 x 7" card base
Digi stamp - Crafting With Jack Stamps
Paper/card - DCWV Latte Stack
Promarkers/Copics
Spellbinders - Labels 28
Spellbinders - Scallop Circles
Spellbinders - Grand Circles
Sentiment - free from Ginger's House blog
ColorBox Chalk Inkpad - Azurite

I hope you have a little chuckle at 'Ken' and his fly!     He thought it was yummy!  Thank you all for stopping by and reading my warbles - if you have had time to leave a comment, may I thank you as always.  You brighten my day enormously - I miss it when I don't have a card to post on my blog!!!!

Take care my friends and have a go at the above challenge - great fun!

Hugs to you and yours

SUE

I will edit my post if I find any challenges for the above card

VALENTINE FOR HUBBY - OOPS!

Hello my blog friends I hope you are all really well and crafting!  This is the card that I made for hubby - with a slight twist - 'cos I don't do serious very often.    He always says I never make him any cards so he has now had a birthday card, Christmas card and Valentine card.  Well I did have a birthday card!

He has decided on his next project and that is to put up another shelf above my desk and lower the one that is already there.   My 18 x A5 folders will then be  easier for me to reach - they hold allllllll my dies.   He says I will have more room on my desk (for me to clutter up of course) if I move my printer, free view and Sky box onto the new shelf!  He is such a lovely hubby!

You might see that I have now mastered the pearl blobs - I bought myself a Pearl Wand from Pinflair and I can really manage this - yay!!!!   Anyway this was the outside - the ladybird has glaze on it and looks much better in real life!!

However, I couldn't stick to sugar and had to have a little spice inside the card -

This really made him chuckle - the truth is out there! - I found the poem on the internet, again by Jon Brattan.

Ingredients

7 x 7" card base
Free digi stamp - Sliekjestamps No 102
Promarkers
Charm from Ebay
Ribbon, papers, from stash
Hearts from my diecut box (part of Anja square design)
Poem - Jon Brattan
Stickles Stardust

I hope you like this as much as hubby did - thank you for stopping by and for having a peek at my blog.  I enjoyed making this card for the simple reason it made my hubby laugh - job done!!!

I am so glad I have such lovely followers - you make my little blog really pleasurable for me.  And ....... I am even making cards quicker than I used to!!!  I will never be able to do one in less than three days mind - lol!

Lots of big hugs to you all

SUE

THOMAS THE TEENAGER!

Hello there blog friends - and a warm welcome to my two new followers!  Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my wafflings.  I have been sooooo busy making cards - all four of them (stop laughing) - that I haven't posted anything on my blog for days!!!  I have popped over to many of your blogs though and left a few comments, here and there lol!   However, Thomas (my next door neighbour's young son) is 13 on 1 March and I have made him the following birthday card.  I looked all over for digi stamps but didn't find anything I liked as much as the one Jenny used for one of her cards.  I popped over to Mo Manning's Digital Pencil Shop and bought the very same one called 'Video Boy'.  I've not copied Jenny L, I have been inspired by her instead - lol!

I found a lovely poem on the internet which I thought was quite appropriate (as long as he doesn't take it seriously!!!).

I wanted this to look as if it had been ripped out of a notebook and had been pinned to the 'fence' with drawing pins.

I can tell you that this is the earliest I have made him a card as I am usually still thinking about it the week before his birthday.  I knew keeping a blog was a good idea - the inspiration and information (re where to get things from) is amazing - lol!

Ingredients

8 x 8" Papermania Kraft Card
Kanban Card - Wood effect
MME Card - On the Bright Side
Papermania - Plain Textured Card
Spellbinders - Grand Circles
Spellbinders - Small Circles
Nellie Snellen - Star 3
Die-namics - Photo corners
Die-namics - Notebook Edge
Promarkers, Copics and White Pen
Craftwork Cards - Card Candi
Twine, Buttons from stash

I have another little pic for you - however, if anyone knows where these little darlings (grrrr) were during my birdy count last month - please don't let me know!  Mind you these Long Tailed Tits are soooo bloomin' gorgeous they can visit us whenever they like!

I hope you like both the card and my birdies.  Thank you for stopping by and looking at my blog wafflings.  I always appreciate it if you have time to leave me a comment or three, I love reading them and often giggle over our banter.

Please take care and I will pop by sometime soon.  Hope you manage to do some crafting today!

Big crafty hugs to you all

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR A BLOG FRIEND

Hi there to my blog friends, I do hope you are all well and keeping warm.   I have some news which I would like to share with you!   I entered a card into Lady Anne's Challenge blog and she emailed inviting me to be one of her DT members.   I am really pleased to have been asked and am girding my loins to enter my first card shortly!  I will give you more details about this when I can.

Well, this is the real post for today and one I nearly forgot about!!!  I made this card just after Christmas but couldn't post it until I had sent it to my friend Suzie from http://suziescards.blogspot.co.uk/.  Suzie is the fantastic lady who started my blog for me - me being totally phobic about technology!  She still helps me and answers my questions now, 6 months later!

I know she has a Cocker Spaniel called Rosie and I had this gorgeous LOTV stamp with two little dogs on it so thought it would 'sort of fit' for the occasion.  If my memory is correct I seem to remember that Suzie likes these colours.

I used my Grand Nestabilities - Large Scallop and cut three from some White Centura Pearl card.  I used eyelets to secure two together and then threaded some purply ribbon through.  Then I made it into an easel card using an inner circle of Bazill Basics and edged it with peel-offs to make it stand out.
The image was cut with another Spellbinders die - Grand Decorative Circles, this one being the smallest circle.

The border strip along the centre of the card and either side of the front panel is an EK punch - it took me a while to get the hearts opposite each other when I punched it.  I then used a small peel off chain down the middle of this border to give it a little oomph!  The sentiment is one I found on the internet (a freebie),  I'm not fond of really sugary sentiments myself so I think this one is just right.

Suzie said she liked it so I was quite pleased with myself - yay!!!

Ingredients

White Centura Pearl card
Floral paper from stash
Spellbinders Grand Large Scalloped Circle
Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circle
Spellbinders Grand Circle
LOTV stamp
Copics and Promarkers
WOC flowers/leaves
Stardust

I hope you like this card.  Thank you so much for stopping by my blog - you know by now that I can waffle for England - wish it was an Olympic Sport!  I hope you have left a comment for me to read, I really am grateful for your continued support.

Big hugs to you all
